HANG UP!

Spring 2024 - GigaJam

This short was created for GigaJam 2024, a 36-hour competition; the entirety of Hang Up! was made within that timeframe. I was chiefly responsible for concept design, procedural rigging, and animation, and I don't think I could be happier with the result of everyone's work!

Our main inspiration for the project was Microsoft Paint, and specifically the way drawings in that program have a sort of crunchy, unpolished aura. We accomplished this look by using emissive shaders on our textures and turning off shadows / light interactions to get a very flat feeling. Our VFX artist created a procedural "lineart" tool to add sharp, aliased lines over the characters and props.
